Baillie & The Boys $12- 10.26.24
Emerging as one of the best known bands of the late 80's and early 90's, Baillie & The Boys was an integral part of forever shaping the direction of country music. Baillie & The Boys signed with RCA records in 1986 releasing it's self-titled debut in 1987, which spawned a total of three hit singles; Oh Heart, He's Letting Go and Wilder Days. With the release of the groups second CD, Turn The Tide, the first single released quickly climbed the charts to the # 3 position. It was one of the longest running country singles planted on the charts, for a record breaking 37 weeks, becoming one of the most performed songs of 1988.
The next three singles from that CD; She Deserves You, Turn The Tide and (I Wish I Had A) Heart Of Stone were the biggest country singles of 1988 and 1989. The Lights Of Home (third CD release, RCA) became one of the groups biggest hits; the remake of Hank Snow's classic, (Now And Then There’s) A Fool Such As I ,followed by Treat Me Like A Stranger and Perfect completing a perfect string of 10 consecutive BillBoard Top Ten Hits while on the RCA label.
In 1995, Kathie co-hosted one of TNN's top rated variety shows, Yesteryear, as well as several award shows and television specials.
With the release of the album, Lovin’ Every Minute (on the Intersound label,) the group continuously toured throughout the country. Angel In Chains, a movie sound track featuring all original Baillie & The Boys songs, followed by the album release of The Road That Led Me To You, continued to garner the group accolades from the media. However, without the RCA machine behind them the group was unable to hold on to it's once mainstay presence on the radio charts.
The One Thing, a Baillie and the Boys song featured in the movie, Angel in Chains catapulted the release of their new album, The Road that Led Me to You, which was in the Top Ten Country Picks in Billboard magazine.
In 2007, Kathie released her first solo album, Love's Funny That Way, which made it into the semi-final GRAMMY nominations’ for best solo country album.
With almost six years since releasing their last project, I Will Run will find a welcomed return among industry and fans alike. The newest album is a testimonial proving that the group will continue with it’s long run of hits for a long time and contains pure, Baillie & The Boys at it’s best! Meanwhile, you can still catch the group throughout the country, in concert, performing many of the newest songs along with their previous hits.
